An Iraqi-Pakistani agreement to develop agricultural cooperation in its various fields

Baghdad: The Minister of Agriculture, Abbas Jabr Al-Maliki, discussed with the Pakistani Ambassador in Baghdad, Muhammad Zeeshan Ahmed, agricultural cooperation between the two countries.

The ministry stated in a statement, ‘The minister praised, during his meeting with the Pakistani ambassador in his office this morning in Baghdad, the close relations between the two friendly countries, especially in the agricultural field, stressing the importance of activating the work of the joint committee to give a new impetus to agricultural cooperation in its various fields, especially the livestock sector and improving and purifying seeds, especially wheat and rice seeds and veterinary vaccines

Ambassador Zeeshan expressed the Pakistani government’s endeavor to develop agricultural relations with Iraq in all fields, and its readiness to exchange experiences and cooperate in a way that will benefit the agricultural reality in Baghdad and Islamabad.

For his part, the Technical Undersecretary of the Ministry of Agric
ulture explained the work carried out by the technical authorities in the Ministry to develop livestock breeds for cows, buffaloes and sheep, expressing a desire to cooperate in this field with the Pakistani side.

At the end of the meeting, it was agreed to provide mutual study fellowships for masters and doctorates in agricultural specializations, as well as opening the door to agricultural investment in its various fields.
