The General Directorate of Intelligence and Security announced the arrest of an impersonator of an officer in the Ministry of Defense, with the rank of lieutenant general, in Baghdad.
The Directorate stated in a statement: “The detachments of the General Directorate of Field Intelligence and Security, according to accurate intelligence information, arrested an impersonator of a lieutenant general in the Ministry of Defense, against whom a judicial warrant was issued in accordance with the provisions of Article (160) of the Penal Code.”
It added: “The arrest took place after gathering and matching the intelligence information, following up on his movements, setting up a tight ambush by the Directorate’s detachments, and arresting him in one of the areas of Baghdad, where he carried out many fraud operations that affected citizens in exchange for sums of money, and the necessary measures were taken against him and he was presented to the competent judicial authority.”/End
