Kuwait city: His Highness Sheikh Meshal Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah, Amir of the State of Kuwait, addressed the Kuwaiti people and residents of Kuwait on the occasion of the final ten nights of the holy month of Ramadhan. His Highness touched on the spiritual meanings of the holy month, the current challenges facing the region, and the security repercussions that require the highest levels of awareness, vigilance, and strengthened trust between the leadership and the people.
According to Bahrain News Agency, HH Sheikh Meshal Al Ahmad noted that the region is witnessing rapid developments and unprecedented escalation, which requires everyone to exercise full awareness of what is happening and complete vigilance in confronting rumours and attempts to undermine trust. His Highness stressed that Kuwait's strength is based on mutual trust between the leadership and the people, as well as the cohesion of society and its national unity.
HH Sheikh Meshal Al Ahmad pointed out that Kuwait was subjected to a brutal attack targeting its airspace, civilian facilities, and infrastructure, which resulted in the loss of members of the armed forces and injuries among citizens and residents. His Highness stressed that this attack represents a flagrant violation of international conventions and a blatant assault on the sovereignty and security of Kuwait.
HH Sheikh Meshal Al Ahmad said that Kuwait affirms its full right to legitimate self-defence in accordance with Article 51 of the United Nations Charter, and to take all necessary measures to protect its territory and people and preserve its sovereignty and stability, calling on the international community to condemn this aggression and take positions capable of preventing the recurrence of such violations.
HH Sheikh Meshal Al Ahmad affirmed Kuwait's full solidarity with Arab countries in confronting the attacks that targeted them, noting that the security of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries is indivisible, and explaining that the Kuwaiti armed forces are carrying out their duties efficiently and capably in confronting the current challenges.
HH Sheikh Meshal Al Ahmad expressed his thanks and appreciation to the leaders of Arab and international countries for their positions supporting Kuwait in confronting the aggression. His Highness commended the efforts of state institutions and their personnel in carrying out their national duties, and expressed the leadership's confidence in the ability of the people of Kuwait to overcome challenges in a spirit of unity and solidarity.
HH Sheikh Meshal Al Ahmad wished for the continued security and stability of Kuwait, and the swift recovery for the injured.
