Ambassador Attends 5th Trkiye Maritime Summit to Discuss Future of Shipping

Ankara: Bassam Ahmed Marzooq, Ambassador to the Republic of Trkiye, participated in the Fifth Trkiye Maritime Summit, held under the patronage of the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure. The summit brought together transport ministers, senior Turkish government officials, representatives of international maritime organisations, maritime industry experts, port authorities, and leading companies in the maritime transport and logistics sectors.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the summit was inaugurated by Abdulkadir Uraloglu, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure of Trkiye, marking the country's centenary of coastal shipping. An awards ceremony for the Fifth Trkiye Maritime Summit was also held under the patronage of Cevdet Yilmaz, Vice President of the Republic of Trkiye.

Discussions focused on key strategic issues shaping the future of maritime transport, including digital transformation in ports, the use of artificial intelligence in port operations, the development of smart ports, maritime safety and security, and the transition to sustainable shipping and lower carbon emissions in line with the objectives of the International Maritime Organisation.
