Manama: Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), sent a cable of congratulations to Ahmad Hussein Al Sharaa, President of the Syrian Arab Republic, on the occasion of his assumption of the presidency during the transitional phase. Albudaiwi expressed confidence that President Al Sharaa's leadership will contribute to fulfilling the aspirations of the Syrian people for security, stability, and prosperity.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Albudaiwi also emphasised the GCC states' steadfast support for Syria during the transitional phase and their commitment to standing by the Syrian people to achieve Syria's unity, sovereignty, and independence.
