Alba and NFPA Collaborate to Boost Fire Safety and Occupational Health

Manama: Aluminium Bahrain (Alba), the world's largest aluminium smelter on one site, has entered into a strategic partnership with the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), a global non-profit organization based in the United States, focused on advancing fire prevention and safety worldwide for nearly 130 years. This collaboration aims to enhance fire safety and occupational health standards within Alba's operations.

According to Bahrain News Agency, through this partnership, Alba and NFPA will jointly develop and implement an action plan that includes hosting awareness forums, training sessions, certification programs, and conferences to promote best practices in fire safety. Additionally, both organizations will collaborate on aligning standards related to fire prevention and occupational safety, drawing on shared lessons, research, and data analysis.

Ali Al Baqali, CEO of Alba, expressed that partnering with NFPA is aligned with the company's goal to be a global leader in industrial safety, alongside being the world's largest aluminium smelter. He emphasized Alba's pride in being the first aluminium smelter in the region and the first manufacturing company in Bahrain to take this significant step. The partnership aims to enable Alba to learn from global best practices and share its progress, supporting a safer and more sustainable industrial future.

Dana Kamal, Director of International Business Development MENA at NFPA, stated that the agreement with Alba reflects a shared commitment to advancing fire and life safety in Bahrain's industrial sector. She highlighted that through alignment with the NFPA Fire and Life Safety Ecosystem, the partnership aims to support Alba in maintaining high safety standards as it expands its operations.
