Cairo: As part of the official visit of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to Egypt, Aluminium Bahrain (Alba) has signed a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Metallurgical Industries Holding of Egypt. The signing took place on September 3 in the presence of HRH Prince Salman.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the MoU sets a framework for future discussions on strategic initiatives. This includes the potential development of an alumina refinery project in Egypt, along with possible long-term purchase agreements or capital partnerships.
The MoU was signed by Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Finance and National Economy and Chairman of the Board of Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company, and Mohamed El Saadawy, Executive Managing Director of Metallurgical Industries Holding.
