Counselor Alaa Al-Tamimi, Chairman of the Land Authority, received the World Bank Representative in Palestine, Didier Sagacia, today, Monday, at the headquarters of the Land Authority in the city of Al-Bireh.
Al-Tamimi began the meeting by welcoming the guest, congratulating him on assuming the leadership of the project team, and briefing him on the overall conditions and circumstances that the country is going through due to the occupation and its policies. Al-Tamimi explained that this visit comes at a time of difficult and exceptional circumstances for our people, especially our people in Gaza, who are suffering as a result of the ongoing Israeli aggression for nearly ten months.
Al-Tamimi thanked the Land Authority staff for the effort made despite all the obstacles and challenges, and stressed that the staff of the Ministry of Finance, the Settlement Authority, and the Land Authority are moving forward towards achieving more accomplishments and improving and developing services in partnership with dono
rs, especially the World Bank.
Al-Tamimi added that the Land Authority looks forward to building on what has been achieved in the path of joint success with all partners, and stressed the need to prepare future visions to advance the land sector due to its strategic importance.
On the other hand, the World Bank representative, Sagacia, thanked Advisor Al-Tamimi for the warm reception, and praised the success of the project between the World Bank and the Palestinian partners, especially the efforts made by the Land Authority.
During the meeting, Sagashya announced the extension of the real estate registration project until March 2025, in addition to obtaining initial approval from the World Bank management for the upcoming project. He also explained that current projects will be evaluated, and future strategies will be discussed between the Ministry of Finance, the Settlement Authority, and the Land Authority.
During the meeting, Sagashya expressed his pride in the ability of the Palestinian people to prov
ide services despite the difficult circumstances they are going through. He explained that the World Bank is preparing estimates of the extent of the damage resulting from the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, and will also prepare the necessary strategic plans for reconstruction in various sectors, most notably the land sector, due to its great importance.
