Al-Sudani hosts a meeting of the State Administration Coalition

The Prime Minister, Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, hosted this evening, Tuesday, the periodic meeting of the State Administration Coalition.

During it, according to a statement by Al-Sudani’s office, the general situation in the country was discussed, the progress of implementing government plans prepared in various sectors, and the most prominent achievements that were achieved within the priorities of the government program that aim at developing the service and economic reality in general.

Parliamentary affairs were also discussed, and the importance of coordination between the executive and legislative authorities, which helps in dealing with many important files.

The meeting discussed the ongoing preparations for holding provincial elections next December, and the importance of continuing to support the elements of success in holding fair, impartial and transparent elections, as well as discussing a draft amendment to the Independent High Electoral Commission law, and proceeding with its legislative procedures, in accordance with constitutional and legal mechanisms, taking into account the comments made.

The meeting reviewed the results of the visit of the Iraqi security delegation, headed by the Minister of Defense, to the United States of America, in drawing up the future relationship between the two countries.

The meeting emphasized support for the government’s dialogue efforts with the United States of America, in a way that enhances national sovereignty and preserves the supreme interests of the country in various fields.

The meeting also emphasized the activation of the parliamentary oversight role, and the need for all ministries and governorates to adhere to the spending mechanisms approved in the financial budget and not to use them in the electoral process, in a way that violates the principle of equal opportunities and indicates the exploitation of office and public money.

The meeting urged the ministerial committee concerned with the draft oil and gas law to complete its discussions with technicians in the Federal Ministry of Oil and the Ministry of Natural Resources in the Kurdistan region of Iraq, and to proceed with the maturation of the draft.
