Manama: Al Sawari Theatre won five awards at the Jerash Monodrama Festival. The production The So-Called Coincidence (Al Mad'u Sudfah) claimed four honours: Best Integrated Production, the Special Jury Award, won by Kamil Al Busaidi, Best Director, awarded to Ibrahim Al Mansi, and Best Scenography, presented to Abdullah Al Bakri. The festival was held as part of the 40th Jerash Festival for Culture and Arts.
According to Bahrain News Agency, playwright Yousif Al Hamdan also won the Best Playwriting Award for his script Mr. Stage (Al Sayyid Khashabah), bringing Al Sawari Theatre's total haul at the festival to five awards.
