‘Al Sarea’ Wins Gold at Saudi Crown Prince Camel Festival 2025

Taif: The camel 'Al Sarea', owned by His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty the King's Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, clinched first place on the second day of the seventh Crown Prince Camel Festival 2025 in Taif.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the camel 'Sayyaf' secured second place in the same two-kilometre race, which saw fierce competition among elite Gulf entries. 'Al Sarea' also recorded the fastest time in its category, marking a significant achievement for Bahraini camels and highlighting the support and attention given to this heritage sport by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

The festival is recognised as the largest of its kind globally, attracting over 100,000 camels across its various races, with total prizes surpassing SAR 50 million. Since its inception in 2018, it has evolved into a global platform celebrating camel heritage.

This year, the Kingdom of Bahrain is participating with 50 camels, showcasing the Kingdom's active involvement in leading Gulf and international events. This presence reflects the deep historical ties with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and their collaborative efforts to preserve heritage and strengthen Arab identity.

Organised by the Saudi Camel Federation, the festival is distinguished by high-level organisation, extensive media coverage, and strong public engagement, solidifying its reputation as a major international platform for camel racing and heritage.
