Al-Menfi meets with Putin in St. Petersburg.

The President of the Presidential Council, Mohamed Al-Menfi, held a meeting in St. Petersburg yesterday with the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin.

During the meeting, Putin praised Al-Menfi’s remark at the Russian-African Partnership Summit and the issues he touched upon, stressing his commitment to reform the Security Council, activate joint cooperation between the two countries, resume the implementation of stalled projects through a joint committee between the two countries, and support Libya’s stability by holding the elections.

Al-Menfi thanked Putin for the invitation and warm reception, stressing the importance of the Russian-African partnership in creating stability on the continent and achieving global food security, and looking forward to establishing a joint committee between the two countries.

In his remark, Al-Menfi highlighted that the Presidential Council has an inclusive vision to achieve stability and is working to implement it in close coordination with the UN Special Envoy, which demands the support of the Security Council to continue efforts of national reconciliation in partnership with the African Union.
