Al-Manfi discusses with Batili the efforts of the UN mission to hold elections in Libya.

Today, Sunday, the President of the Presidential Council, Muhammad Al-Manfi, discussed with the UN envoy to Libya, “Abdullah Batili, the mission’s efforts to communicate with all Libyan parties to hold parliamentary and presidential elections.

The media office of the President of the Presidential Council stated that Batili briefed Al-Manfi on the mission’s efforts to communicate with all Libyan parties in order to facilitate the agreement of those parties to hold parliamentary and presidential elections based on the 6 + 6 outputs, as well as the results of the 5 + 5 Military Committee meeting that was hosted by the city of Benghazi last week. With the participation of representatives of the Security Track Committee of the Berlin Conference.

According to the media office, the UN envoy praised the exile’s speech before the Russia-Africa summit, in which he addressed the most important national issues that achieve stability in Libya and lead to responding to the aspirations of the Libyan people for comprehensive national reconciliation, general elections, sustainable development, safeguarding national unity, and ensuring the independence of will and national decision.

For his part, Al-Manfi affirmed that the Presidential Council continues to perform its national role in order to achieve the will and aspirations of the Libyan people, which we express and embody through all international and regional platforms.
