Al-Mandalawi and Hamoudi stress the importance of dialogue and consensus as a basis for choosing a speaker for Parliament

The Acting Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, and the President of the Iraqi Islamic Supreme Council, Sheikh Humam Hamoudi, stressed the importance of dialogue and consensus as a basis for choosing the Speaker of the House of Representatives.

A statement from Al-Mandalawi’s media office said that the Acting Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, received at his residence today, Saturday, the President of the Iraqi Islamic Supreme Council, Sheikh Humam Hamoudi.

During the meeting, according to the statement, a number of important local files and issues were discussed, and the latest developments in the political scene, especially the movement of the national forces to choose a speaker for the House of Representatives, and the need to expedite the resolution of this file on the basis of dialogue and consensus.

It was also agreed to support the government in implementing its program, and to open up positively to the regional and international environment in a
way that achieves the interests of Iraq and its people.
