Al-Dabaiba discusses with the French President’s envoy the political situation in Libya and the election file

Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dabaiba received, on Wednesday, the special envoy of French President Paul Soler and the French ambassador to Libya, Mustafa Maharaj.

The government information office said that the two sides discussed developments in the political situation in Libya and neighboring countries, and developments in the election file.

The head of the National Unity Government stressed the need to hold elections as soon as possible in accordance with fair and impartial laws, and his support for what was stated in the recent briefing of the UN envoy to Libya, Abdullah Batili, before the Security Council, stressing the necessity of ending the transitional stages in Libya.

For his part, French President’s envoy Paul Soler expressed his country’s support for the national unity government and the steps it is taking regarding holding elections as soon as possible, according to the government’s information office.
