Al Balooshi Secures Victory for Bahrain1 Racing in Penultimate Drag Racing Round at BIC

Sakhir: Khaled Al Balooshi claimed another victory for Bahrain1 Racing in the fourth and penultimate round of the 2024/2025 Bahrain Drag Racing Championship, held last week at Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) in Sakhir. Al Balooshi triumphed in the Pro Mod class and was the star of the meeting at 'The Home of Motorsport in the Middle East'.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the event was held along BIC's world-class quarter-mile drag strip, a member of the Worldwide Network under the U.S.-based National Hot Rod Association (NHRA). The Bahrain Drag Racing Championship is the region's leading drag racing series, sanctioned by the NHRA. Each season's champions are honored with a prestigious Wally trophy of NHRA fame. The championship is organized and run by BIC in cooperation with the Bahrain Motor Federation, the Bahrain Drag Racing Commission, and the Bahrain Motorcycle Commission.

Al Balooshi secured his victory in the Pro Mod category following an all-Bahrain1 showdown in the final elimination against teammate Khalil Al Ansari. Al Balooshi clocked a time of 4.054 seconds at 230.45kph, while Al Ansari posted a 5.854s mark at 115.22kph. Other winners in the car classes included Ali Baslar, Safwan Adel, Ali Al Khamiri, Mahmood Mohammed, Sayed Hussain Salman, Mohammed Mohsin, Abdullah Al Shamsi, and Obaid Al Balooshi. The bike class victors were Ali Hejair, Fadi Abu Jamous, Ali Bahram, and Khalid Al Dossary.

Ali Baslar triumphed in the 10.0 Index class with a pass of 9.985s at 211.08kph, defeating Sadiq Al Huzum's 9.979s at 209.63kph. Safwan Adel took the 9.0 Index category with a mark of 17.881s at 131.83kph, besting Mohammed Ehdayah's 19.092s at 111.39kph. Ali Al Khamiri claimed first in the 8.5 Index class, posting a time of 8.521s at 248.90kph against Fawaz Al Awadhi's 8.544s at 262.85kph.

Mahmood Mohammed emerged victorious in the Outlaw 4-Cylinder category with a 13.065s mark at 127.71kph, defeating Ahmed Abdulrahman's 20.780s at 137.79kph. Sayed Hussain Salman won the 7.5 Index class with a 7.636s pass at 292.04kph, narrowly edging out Fahad Khadada's 7.768s at 279.16kph.

Mohammed Mohsin took the Outlaw 6-Cylinder win with a 5.227s pass at 225.14kph, overcoming Mohammed Hussain's 5.102s at 235.45kph. Abdullah Al Shamsi triumphed in the Pro 29.5 V8 division with a 4.643s pass at 211.20kph, defeating Ali Abdulrahman's 5.353s at 211.18kph.

Obaid Al Balooshi topped the Competition 4.5 class with a 4.968s mark at 227.16kph, beating Abdulrahman Boalwa's 4.452s at 236.50kph. In the bikes categories, Ali Hejair won the Street Fight Bikes 9.5 with a 10.462s run at 201.75kph, defeating Fadi Abu Jamous's 14.852s at 133.72kph.

Abu Jamous claimed victory in the 8.5 Index Bikes class with an 8.505s time at 231.31kph, while Ali Bahram secured the Pro Street Bikes category with a 5.184s run at 221.27kph. Khalid Al Dossary triumphed in the Outlaw Bikes class with a 4.658s run at 242.65kph against Khalifa Fouad's 5.391s at 212.24kph.

Following the action, winners were presented with their trophies in the podium ceremonies. The 2024/2025 Bahrain Drag Racing Championship is now headed for its season-finale, scheduled for March 11-14.
