After Shooting At A Rescue Patrol A Terrorist Suspect Arrested While Being Chased In Basra

Basra Police arrested a terrorist suspect after he opened fire on a rescue patrol and was chased, resulting in the injury of one of the Police members.

The Basra Governorate Police Command stated in a statement that while the police patrol was roaming in Qibla area, there was suspicion about three people riding a motorcycle, and when an attempt was made to stop them, they fled and were chased. One of the accused opened fire on the rescue vehicle during the chase and injured one of the members in the left hand. He was transferred to the hospital to receive treatment.

It added, immediately, a force was formed from Anti-Crime Department, the Rescue Police Department, the Emergency Regiments, the Tactical Regiment, and Al-Hussein Police Department, and cordoned off the area. The force began searching for the fleeing accused, and through follow-up, one of the accused was arrested, referred to the judiciary, and he was detained in accordance with the provisions of Article Four of Anti-Terrorism Law, indicating that efforts are still continuing until the other defendants are arrested.
