Kuala lumpur: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has accredited Abdulrahman Abdulqader, VAR Project Manager at the Bahrain Football Association, and Majdi Al Doseri, Head of IT, as VAR Information Officers (VIOs) following their successful completion of a specialized workshop.
According to Bahrain News Agency, this accreditation emphasizes the advanced capabilities of Bahraini talent at the continental level. The workshop, held in Kuala Lumpur, focused on reviewing international best practices in the implementation of the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) system.
The selection of Abdulqader and Al Doseri as VIOs demonstrates the commitment of the Bahrain Football Association's Board of Directors, led by Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, with support from Vice President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Isa Al Khalifa. Their leadership is dedicated to empowering national professionals and ensuring that Bahrain maintains active representation in the region.
The AFC's accreditation of VIOs for the 2025-2026 season enables them to manage technical responsibilities in continental competitions. The Bahrain Football Association is committed to enhancing its refereeing systems and expanding the use of VAR in accordance with international standards, both locally and across Asian tournaments.
