Abu dhabi: H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, today received Dr. Badr Abdel Ati, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Migration of the Arab Republic of Egypt, in Abu Dhabi. The meeting focused on discussing current regional developments and their potential implications for international peace and security in light of recent Israeli actions against the State of Qatar.
According to Emirates News Agency, both diplomats expressed their full solidarity with Qatar, supporting all measures taken to safeguard its security and protect its citizens and residents. H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed emphasized the importance of respecting state sovereignty as a fundamental principle of international relations. He highlighted that any violation of this principle constitutes a breach of the UN Charter and international law, urging the international community to assume its responsibilities to halt aggressive Israeli actions.
H.H. and Dr. Abdel Ati also explored ways to enhance joint efforts towards achieving comprehensive peace in the region, focusing on the two-state solution to strengthen security, stability, and development. The meeting further addressed the strong fraternal relations between the UAE and Egypt and discussed avenues to expand cooperation within their strategic partnership.
The discussions included prospects for collaboration in vital sectors such as the economy, development, and trade, aiming to support both countries’ aspirations for growth and prosperity. H.H. reaffirmed the deep-rooted ties between the UAE and Egypt, committing to advance bilateral cooperation for the progress and prosperity of both nations.
