A parliamentary bloc criticizes the postponement of elections in the Kurdistan and calls for setting their date

Baghdad, The New Generation Parliamentary Bloc called on the Federal Court not to accept the postponement of the Kurdistan Regional Parliament elections without specifying the date proposed by the Commission.

The head of the bloc, MP Sarwa Abdel Wahed, said in a press statement on Tuesday, ‘When the parties of power in Baghdad complimented the parties of power in the region and helped postpone the elections, they meant by this courtesy that the situation in the region would remain in the hands of the two parties, and that the decision would be confined to the Kurdistan Democratic Party, the dominant ally of the government and its parties in Baghdad”.

She added, addressed the commission”Do you know that you violated the law, the constitution, and the decision of the Federal Court?! And the promises they made to you that the postponement would be for only two months, is another of their lies.”

She continued, “You are now responsible to the Kurdish people. As you postponed, you must set the date proposed by t
he Commission to hold the elections. The remaining authorities in the region are illegitimate and want to preserve their survival.”
