The local Wathiqoon bloc in Najaf announced its disowning of its candidate for the provincial council due to suspicions of corruption in his work, his dealings with the public and societal situation, relations, and attempts to blackmail contractors and others in the province.
This came in an official statement by the bloc whose candidate, Ghaith Shabaa, is Vice President of the Najaf Provincial Council.
