Ouezzane: A 5.2-magnitude quake on the Richter scale struck the province of Ouezzane in Morocco on Monday evening, the National Institute for Geophysics (ING) said.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the earthquake’s epicenter, which occurred at a depth of 20 kilometers, was located at 34.954° North latitude and 5.635° West longitude. The tremor originated in the municipality of Brikcha, in the province of Ouezzane, and occurred at 11:48:43 P.M. (GMT+1).
The Maghreb Arabe Press (MAP) reported that no damage was recorded following the earthquake. The authorities continue to monitor the situation to ensure the safety of the residents in the affected areas.
According to local authorities contacted by MAP, no damage has been reported.
