Cairo: A 3.5-magnitude earthquake was recorded 128 kilometres from Sharm El Sheikh, as confirmed by the National Research Institute of Astronomy and Geophysics (NRIAG).
According to Bahrain News Agency, the seismic event was detected by NRIAG's monitoring stations at 7:26 AM Cairo local time, occurring at a depth of 13 kilometres. The Middle East News Agency (MENA) reported that the tremor was felt by some residents in the area.
NRIAG noted that there were no casualties or material damage reported following the earthquake. Despite the tremor being felt, it did not result in any significant impact on the region.
