/18/ wanted persons, including those accused of promoting and using narcotics and others involved in quarrels arrested


Baghdad: The Baghdad Operations Command announced the arrest of 18 wanted persons, including those accused of promoting and using narcotics and others “parties to quarrels”, in addition to closing unlicensed liquor stores on both sides of Karkh and Rusafa.

The Command said in a statement that “with the aim of enhancing security and stability and pursuing outlaws, organized crime gangs and perpetrators of tribal conflicts (terrorism of residential neighborhoods) with the support of agencies and intelligence services, the Baghdad Operations Command units, through the (First, Second, Fifth) Federal Police Division and the units attached to it, carried out a number of security duties and practices and activated judicial arrest warrants.”

The Command added, “The duties resulted in the arrest of 18 suspects, including those accused of promoting and using narcotics and others (parties to quarrels), and the confiscation of unlicensed weapons in their possession, in addition to the closure of a number of illegal liq
uor stores in the areas of (Nahrawan, Husseiniyat al-Maamel, al-Shaab, al-Nasr neighborhood, al-Basatin neighborhood, al-Dulai, al-Rabi’ Street) on both sides of Karkh and Rusafa.” It confirmed that “those arrested and the seized materials were referred to the competent authorities to complete the legal procedures against them.
