165th GCC Ministerial Council Meeting and GCC-Japan Joint Ministerial Meeting Scheduled in Kuwait City

Kuwait city: Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), announced that the 165th meeting of the GCC Ministerial Council will take place tomorrow in Kuwait City. The session will be presided over by Abdullah Ali Abdullah Al Yahya, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Kuwait and the current Chairman of the Ministerial Council. This meeting will be followed by the second GCC-Japan Joint Ministerial Meeting, headed by Iwaya Takeshi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the GCC Ministerial Council will address several key reports, focusing on the implementation of decisions made during the 45th Summit held in December 2024 in Kuwait City. The agenda includes reviewing memorandums and reports from ministerial and technical committees and the General Secretariat. Discussions will also extend to strategic dialogues and relations between the GCC and other nations and international groups, alongside the latest regional and global developments.

Albudaiwi emphasized that the Gulf-Japanese meeting is part of ongoing GCC efforts to strengthen international relations. The meeting will focus on the joint action plan between the GCC and Japan, alongside continued consultation and coordination. Participants aim to exchange views on regional and international issues of mutual interest, supporting and enhancing security and stability in the region.
