Dubai: The Labour Fund (Tamkeen) inaugurated the Kingdom of Bahrain's pavilion at Gulfood Dubai, with the participation of 11 Bahraini enterprises. The exhibition is one of the largest annual global events specialised in the food and beverage sector. Its 31st edition is being held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, across two main venues: the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) and the Dubai Exhibition Centre at Expo City Dubai. It hosts more than 6,500 exhibitors from over 130 countries and includes more than one million products.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Tamkeen's sponsorship of the Kingdom of Bahrain's pavilion at this global event will open opportunities for Bahraini enterprises to expand their operations and enter new markets. Participating enterprises will have a unique opportunity to showcase their products to a global audience, learn about the latest developments and trends in the sector, expand their networks, conclude deals, and exchange knowledge and expertise with industry leaders.
The enterprises participating in the pavilion include: Al Salwa Meat Factory, Deniz Food Packing Factory, Al Ameer Spices, Al Muharraq Pickles and Spices Factory, the Food Supply Company, Fermendiet Food, Early Riser Food, Quba Factory for producing pollen water and traditional medicines, Alkamel Factory, Amalfi Foods and Awal Dairy Company.
Tamkeen's support for Bahraini enterprises' participation in Gulfood Dubai aligns with the Fund's commitment to supporting national enterprises across various economic sectors and enhancing their competitiveness regionally and globally. Tamkeen's focus on the food and beverage sector stems from its important role in the national economy and the promising opportunities available within it. Therefore, Tamkeen is committed to provide this opportunity for Bahraini enterprises to establish fruitful partnerships, expand their operations, and gain experience, contributing to the development of this sector locally and enhancing its contribution to the Kingdom's economy.
Gulfood is held annually in Dubai to provide a global platform for institutions and experts in the food and beverage sector, and to offer valuable opportunities to build relationships, conclude deals, launch products and announce new developments in the food and hospitality sector. The 2026 edition is expected to see wider participation in exhibition halls extending over one million square feet. Various events are held alongside the exhibition, such as competitions, training courses and panel discussions featuring a selection of chefs, thought leaders, entrepreneurs and influencers in the sector.
The support for Bahrain's pavilion at Gulfood 2026 aligns with Tamkeen's priorities, which focus on areas with the highest impact on the economy and Bahrainis, contributing to shaping career pathways through initiatives that link skills with opportunities in the labour market, working with an innovative approach to stimulate private sector growth and financing, and implementing programmes that enhance the Fund's effectiveness and efficiency by developing internal mechanisms and continuing to strengthen governance.
